Hi GroupChat for Change! My name is Samia Posadas, and I’m a 17-year-old senior at Salpointe Catholic High School. I am so honored and grateful for the wonderful opportunity to return to serving this platform for my second year as a staff writer, co-social media coordinator, and executive board member. As a Filipina writer and performer who is particularly passionate about musical theater, singing, and public speaking, I aim to tell stories that reflect real, human experiences and open space for conversations that not everyone always gets to have. I am especially dedicated to increasing Asian representation in the entertainment industry, as it is incredibly important for people to be able to see themselves in the empowering stories being shared within a public sphere. Outside of my work here, I am an avid photographer, musician, and sports fan, and I hope that the pieces I create leave readers feeling seen, heard, and more connected to one another.
